Curriculum

Curriculum

The curriculum is contextual and flexible as per NCF directives. It is designed to develop the rational

and analytical faculties of young children.

Art, Music, Dance, Sports, various co – curricular activities, Physical Education and Games are the

integral part.

We believe that learning should be stress free. Our endeavour is to make learning full of pleasure. In

order to remove monotony and rejuvenate the students, various clubs have been formed. A host of

weekly inter-house activities result in hundred percent student participation in a variety of fields.

In Classes I, II & III, activities are designed to sharpen creativity, curiosity, competence, analytical

and problem solving skills, communication skills and self expression through public speaking.

In Classes IV, V, VI, VII, and VIII, the students are taught a third language – Sanskrit / Punjabi. Other

subjects taught include English, Maths, Hindi, General Science, Social Sciences, Computers and

Environmental education. In classes IX & X for the all India Secondary School Exam the students are

offered the subjects English, Hindi, Mathematics, Science & Technology, Social Science and

Information Technology.

Book reading in Library also forms an integral part of the curriculum for all the students.

has also extended its expertise beyond the realm of the organisation, by taking its Senior students to

teach the under-privileged children living in the slums of the city. The senior Students interact with

children from slums, educate them and share books and gifts.

Assesment And Record Keeping

A systematic assessment of students’ skills, knowledge, understanding, attitude and work habits is

made and a record of the same is maintained regularly.

There is no formal testing in Classes Play Group to V. Promotion is granted on the basis of the all

round progress of the student during the year by means of regular assessment in scholastics & co-

scholastic areas.

Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation is being followed for classes I to X as per CBSE guidelines.

Classes I to XII have an examination system to test their academic ability. Academic proficiency is

acknowledged in the form of a scholarship provided to the students, who score A1 & A2 in class X

and more than 80% in class XI in the aggregate, to motivate and encourage self improvement, efforts

of each student are recognized besides regular awards and prizes.

Ranks

Mukand Lal Public School does not believe in ranking of its students. However, an average ranking on

the basis of percentage is done to facilitate college admission procedures.
